Darling Girl Cosmetics Rainbow Brite Collection

Darling Girl's Rainbow Brite Collection is probably one of the most unusual collections that Susan has created. All the shades in this collection are absolutely stunning! In the jars, most of these shades look like plain white shadows with a tiny hint of color but when they're used over a black base they come alive in a beautiful rainbow of colors. I think of all the collections of Susan's I own (and I have 5 of them so far), I love this one the best!

Canary - Sheer canary yellow with blue, green and gold sparkles
Shy Violet - Sheer violet blue with blue and purple sparkles
Buddy Blue - Sheer baby blue with blue sparkles
Rainbow Brite - Gorgeous sheer baby pink with a slight red shift and rainbow sparkles

On-X - Sheer black based filled with rainbow sparkles
Red Butler - Sheer coppery red with blue and red sparkles
Lucky - Sheer iridescent green with red, green and blue sparkles
Indigo - Sheer lilac with blue and purple sparkles

Patty O' Green - Sheer yellow with a strong iridescent green shift and blue sparkles

Darling Ghoul Halloween Part 1!

If you know anything about me then you'll know by now how much I love Darling Girl Cosmetics! Susan's Darling Ghoul Halloween collection has been much talked about in the indie makeup blogosphere since it's release and now I have my hot little hands on nearly the entire collection! I couldn't decide in the beginning whether or not I actually wanted to purchase all the shadows but in the end I did buy all of them and I am SO glad I did! They are all so gorgeous and unique! I also purchased most of the lippies as well as the Sweet Cheeks blush in this collect but I'm going to swatch those in a later post. For now, enjoy the shadows and glitter!

The labels are so cute!

Darling Girl Cosmetics Pretty Little Horses

This is another of the lovely Susan's collections and this is a beautiful neutral line with hints of color here and there. This collection is based on some of the most famous horses in literature and pop culture. Enjoy the swatches!

My Little Pony - Gorgeous light pinky lavender with a strong green iridescent shift. It shows much more pink the the pictures than it is in real life. This is one of my favorites in this collection.

Seabiscuit - Vibrant metallic bronze. I can see this one being even more gorgeous when foiled.

Mustang - Almost matte dusty plum with a pinky red shift.

Black Arabian - Dark chocolate brown with gold and red shimmer. This is a really gorgeous dark brown.

Mr. Ed - Light shimmery peach

Black Beauty - Charcoal black with a very slight hint of red shift

Saddle Up - A very light almost-white satin pink

A Horse With No Name - Light nudey beige with a very slight hint of pink shift. This one almost blends into my skin and would be a perfect brow bone color.

Unicorn - Light glittery pink with blue and white glitter

Dapple - Beautiful light taupey grey with a pink shift. I love this one it's so much more beautiful in real life.

Sparkling Luna (GWP) - Gorgeous dark teal with a strong green shift and red glitter. This was received free as a gift with purchase and is not part of the Pretty Little horses collection.

Darling Girl Cosmetics Swatch Spam

So I've decided to take on a rather ambitious project of swatching and photographing my entire makeup collection. Swatches have always been super helpful for me in decided what shades I want to purchase and I thought it'd be nice to have a full library of swatches for you in one easy to find place. I'll be putting up a page with links to all the swatch posts on my blog as soon as I've figured out how best to organize everything.

In the meantime, this is currently my entire collection of Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadows excluding the Hello Kitty Collection which is in another post and also excluding the Pretty Little Horses Collection which I have yet to receive in the mail. Please keep in mind I tried to photograph them as accurately as possible but they don't always come out as true to life as I would like them to. Also some of these colors marked as GWP may not be available for purchase as they are Susan's gift with purchase as well as Eye Candy which were oops colors I believe.

Tragic Romance - Warm red plum with gold shift
Danceteria - Sheer metallic silver loaded with holographic glitter
Emerald City (GWP) - Gorgeous emerald green with gold shift
Blue Monday - Light cornflower blue with coppery pink shift

Whisper - Barest hint of pink with silver shimmer
Stolen Kisses - Deep satin-y purple wine
Demonwasp (GWP) - Pretty medium green with a hint of a gold shift and holographic sparkle
Chasing Waterfalls - Gorgeous metallic blue water

Noble - Shimmery grey-ish beige
La La - Really pretty medium purple with a pinkish shift and holographic glitter

Darling Girl Cosmetics Hello Kitty Collection

Darling Girl Cosmetics (DGC) has been one of my favorite MMUCs almost since the very beginning so this review of them is long overdue. Susan is the owner of DGC and she is an absolute doll! Her customer service is impeccable and she will go above and beyond for you. =)

What I really love about DGC is that they offer eye shadows in 3 sizes Full, Petit and Sample which is awesome when you're trying to save money (like me!). I generally order Petit as these are 3g jars and I have waay too much eye shadow that I doubt I'll ever even use up the 3g jars unless I use it religiously every day. Her TAT is a bit on the longer side, around 10-14 business days but her products are SO worth it! Also, with every purchase over $10 she give you a free gift with purchase (GWP) 3g jar of eye shadow that is not part of her normal collection. The GWP changes just about every week and usually once they're gone you can't get them anymore.

I am a huge fan of Hello Kitty so when I heard she was releasing a Hello Kitty collection I knew it would be mine! I ordered all the eye shadows in the collection in the Petit sizes. There are also a few blushes, glitter liners and lippies in the collection but I haven't purchased those yet (I probably will...eventually...lol). Anyways, on to the swatches...oh by the way I swatched these over a primer from Lucky107 Cosmetics instead of the usual MAC Painterly paint pot simply because I wanted to test out the Lucky107 primer. I'll be reviewing Lucky107 shortly...now back to the swatches.

Balletusa - Medium dusty lilac
Sugar Bunnies - Coppery light brown with green iridescent glitter
Hana Maru - Bright pearly white with holographic glitter
Landry - Dark bronzed brown with copper shimmer

My Melody - Soft baby pink with a light green/gold duochrome
Chococat - Drab army brown satin
Purin - Soft golden yellow with red glitter
Sugar Minuet - Royal purple with aqua glitter

Badtz Maru - Medium chocolate brown with gold glitter
Chi Chai Monchan - Bright strawberry pink satin.
Deery Lou - Light chocolate brown with holographic glitter

Keroppi - Light sea foam green with purple glitter
Spottie Dottie - Soft rose pink with gold shift and a touch of holographic glitter

The pictures don't quite do justice to the eye shadows but at least you have an idea of what they look like. =) Are you in love with DGC yet? Well hopefully you are now or will be after I show off and review my DGC lippie collection as well as my newest order which is in the mail right now (and it is a large one since I ordered during their first ever sale)! DGC really does have something for everyone and she keeps expanding her product offerings which is awesome (well not so awesome for my wallet =P).

Darling Girl Cosmetics Holo-Glosses

Darling Girl Cosmetics Mini Haul
I have previously ordered from Darling Girl Cosmetics so this is not my first purchase from Susan.  She reopened her shop on April 1 after having been closed for about a month because she was moving. I definitely jumped at the chance to order again as I had had my eye on a few things she released while her shop was closed.

Nicely packaged order
I placed my order on April 1 and received my package on April 6 so the TAT and shipping was pretty quick. My order was shipped in a standard yellow bubble mailer with the invoice which I always appreciate. In addition to the 3 lip glosses I ordered I also received 2 samples and her free gift with purchase (GWP) 3g eye shadow which she includes with all orders over $10.

Ingredients list on a sample
Her product packaging is simple and cute. The samples had full ingredients lists on them and from past purchase I know that the full size jars also have the ingredients listed on them also. I was a bit surprised that the lip glosses didn't have the ingredients listed on their labels. However, each and every item she lists in her shop have the ingredients in the listings so you know exactly what is in them before buying. The GWP also did not have any ingredients listed on the packaging.

Free Gift With Purchase of $10 or more
I ended up purchased three of the holo-gloses; Goldfinger, Peaches and Wish You Were Here. These glosses come in little 3.5mL tubes with doe foot applicators and are the perfect size to throw in your purse. All of these glosses have a sheer,  lightly tinted base and are filled with amazing multi-dimensional glitter. I posted a picture of my bare lips to start as reference.

Bare Lips
Goldfinger - nude base with iridescent gold and copper glitter

Goldfinger
Wish You Were Here - medium pink base with pink and gold glitter

Wish You Were Here
Peaches - frosty peach base with red and copper glitter

Peaches
In real life, there is more of a difference in the colors of these glosses than I could capture on camera.  I love the feel of these glosses on my lips. They are not sticky at all and are pretty long lasting on your lips. It's also nice that these glosses don't really feel gritty considering the amount of glitter that is in them.

L-R: New Beginnings, Dapple, Azalea
New Beginnings - Deep royal purple with red and gold glitter

Dapple - Silvery beige with silver shimmer

Azalea - Bright pink bush with a hint of shimmer. This can be rubbed down to a beautiful pale pink on your cheeks.

I really love Darling Girl Cosmetics and would recommend them to anyone. Susan is a doll and her customer service is excellent! She has a pretty large range of beautiful eye shadow and lip gloss colors. I also like the super cute ideas she has for her different collections (Hello Kitty and All the Pretty Little Horses to be specific). I just placed an order for 3 more of her holo-glosses (yes I do like them that much!) as well as the petite sizes of the entire Hello Kitty collection so stay tuned for those swatches!
