Versatile Blogger and Stylish Blogger Awards!

Right before I left I was awarded for not one, not two but THREE more blog awards! I received one Versatile Blogger award from Fierce Nerditude and one Versatile Blogger and Stylish Blogger award from Kattatonic Fierceology! Thanks so much to both of these awesome bloggers!

With the acceptance of the award, you must follow these rules:
1 - Thank and link back to the person that awarded you this award
2 - Share 7 things about yourself
3 - Award 5 recently discovered great bloggers
4 - Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award

Ok so unfortunately since I have 3 awards I need to tell you 21 things about myself and award 15 new bloggers. Considering how long these two awards have been going around and pretty much all the blogs I follow have received both of these awards multiple times I will not be passing them on but I will attempt to tell you 21 new things about myself that I haven't already told you.
  1. I've been married for 2 weeks and loving it!
  2. We went on our honeymoon to Le Blanc Spa and Resort in Cancun Mexico from May 16-May 24
  3. I have a white 3 year old cockapoo named Gromit and he is absolutely adorable (and super spoiled)!
  4. I want to get a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and name him Wallace...lol
  5. I have never broken a single bone in my body despite having been a gymnast for 10 years and an avid skier since I was 8.
  6. I've been playing piano for about 22 years now. I started taking lessons when I was 4.
  7. I LOVE Hello Kitty!! I will never be too old for her.
  8. I love dessert and white wines. Not a big fan of reds though, there are very few I will actually drink.
  9. I don't like sushi (*gasp* an Asian that doesn't like sushi?!?) I can't stand the texture of it (I'm big on food textures and sushi makes me gag). The only raw fish I will currently eat is Ahi Tuna. I am however attempting to slowly adjusting myself to eating more sushi.
  10. I had always thought I would get married in a white wedding dress but my wedding dress was actually ivory instead of white.
  11. It only took me 1 hour and 4 different wedding dresses to find "The One"
  12. My husband is totally fine with me buying makeup as long as I let him buy his electronics... =P
  13. I actually have 2 names on my birth certificate. The name most people know is Amanda Jane Taslim (which now after the wedding has changed... =P). The other name is my Chinese name given to me by my grandfather and that is Lim Gwat Liang which means "shining moon".
  14. I go back to work tomorrow after having almost a month of work...boooooo. =(
  15. It took me about 3 hours to write my wedding vows, it took my husband about 2 days.
  16. For all the nerds out there, my husband gave me a gaming laptop as a wedding present. Asus G73JW...go look it up...it is EPIC!
  17. For my husband's wedding present, I did a boudoir photography shoot. I might be convinced to share some of the "safer" pictures with you if you ask nicely... ;)
  18. I received ALL of the pink Kitchenaid appliances and kitchen utensils I asked for on our wedding registry...yes I'm a girly girl!
  19. Our wedding photographer is getting married on June 17 and we are teaching him and his fiancee how to dance for their wedding.
  20. I NEED to go on a makeup no-buy because I seriously have over 100+ eye shadows from several different companies to swatch and share with you but unfortunately all these amazing companies keep releasing even more amazing new shades! I don't think I'll ever be caught up...lol
  21. I come from a very musical family, my brothers and sister all play instruments as well as many of my cousins. In spite of all these musicians, I did not have ANY live music at my wedding.
Whew! I barely made it to 21! Ok so now that I have these posts out of the way it's back to makeup posts! Can't wait to share all the goodies! Good night for now!

I'm back and I'm now Mrs. Amanda Solis!!

Our wedding ceremony arch. My florist did a fabulous job!
Hello to all my faithful followers and also the new followers I accumulated while I was gone! Our wedding day was absolutely FABULOUS! All of my intensive planning and organizing paid off and our wedding day was fairly smooth.

Flower petals aisle design. I didn't actually get to see this in person...=(
The night before the wedding, I went to bed at 9pm and took a sleep aid because I knew it would be a long wedding day. Let me tell you something, sleep aids DO NOT WORK when the next day is your wedding day...lol. I did not sleep a wink as much as I tried. I don't know what it is, maybe my mind just would not stop going over last minute details but I seriously could not sleep.

Our Best Man and Maid of Honor
My day started at 3:45am...yes you read that right...3:45 IN THE MORNING! My hairdresser wanted me to be in her salon at 4:30am showered and hair dry so she could jump right in to getting my hair done. I knew that girls take forever to get ready but I honestly didn't realize how long it would actually take. We ended up running almost an hour behind getting ready that morning with hair, makeup and getting everyone dressed.

The flowergirls and my puppy Gromit. He was so well behaved!
We opted to take all our formal pictures before the ceremony so we ended up being about 20 minutes late to our own wedding...good thing it can't start without the bride and groom. =) The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous...except for the fact that my nose would not stop running because it was windy and rather cold. Good thing my sister/maid of honor had a wad of tissues tucked in her dress!

The bridesmaids and flowergirls
The whole ceremony was very surreal. I couldn't quite believe that I was finally standing there in front of my best friend saying our vows. I almost could not make it through my vows because I couldn't stop crying! I was seriously a hot mess but that's the best part about being the bride...no one is ever going to say you're a hot mess on your wedding day...hahaha.

My walk to meet my prince!

We are now husband and wife!
I'm not sure how we managed to do this but somewhere between the ceremony and the start of the reception we managed to catch up to our schedule and actually end up ahead of it! Our reception was pretty much smooth sailing all the way! I only wish I could have spent more time talking to some of our guests from out of state that had come all the way just for our wedding. I loved our special day and will always cherish the memories and moments!

Our gorgeous cake table!

Cake cutting. Right before we smashed the cake into our Best Man
and Maid of Honor's faces!!! It was priceless!

My hubby dancing with his Best Man!
The reception ended up wrapping early which was actually really nice because it left us with an extra hour of photography time which we took advantage of to get a lot more wedding photography of just us. I cannot wait until we get our professional pictures back! It'll probably be about 3-4 or maybe 5 months before we get all of them back (we had our photographer for 9 hours so that's a lot of pictures!) but I will definitely share them with you when we do!

Our farewell/thank you speech =)

Fyrinnae Review

I was always a bit hesitant to order from Fyrinnae because of their really long TAT. I'm the kind of girl that hates to wait for orders of sparkley goodness, but I am sooo glad I finally did order from them! Their TAT isn't quite as scary as they make it out to be!

According to their website, their TAT was around 24-28 business days but I actually ended up receiving my order in 10 business days and the same has been true with the second order I placed (which I received today)! Packaging was quite nice with my order wrapped in tissue paper and then wrapped again with cardboard around the outside to protect the contents. I ordered 8 minis and 1 full size shadow and received 1 freebie. Now on to the part you're really waiting for...swatches!

L-R: Digital Faerie, Curiouser and Curiouser, Sleepy Hollow
One thing I discovered very quickly is that these colors are extremely difficult to capture in photographs. They are just so incredibly complex with all the different sparkle and color shifting. So for this particular post I tried to photograph the swatches at a couple different angles to try and capture the complexity. All are swatched over Hi-Fi Cosmetics Shadow Fix.

L-R: Digital Faerie, Curiouser and Curiouser, Sleepy Hollow

Digital Faerie (mini) - STUNNING bright aqua blue with an iridescent green and gold shimmer.

Curiouser and Curiouser (mini) -  Similar to Digital Faerie in color but with less of a green base. It has a gorgeous metallic blue shimmer.

Sleepy Hollow (mini) - Dark teal with a green and gold iridescent shimmer. In some instances the teal is so dark it almost looks black based. I bet this would be amazing over a black base!

L-R: Candy Coated, Rapunzel Wore Extensions, Sugar Skulls
Candy Coated (freebie) - Deep burgundy red with red shimmer. Not really a color I would wear but still beautiful.

Rapunzel Wore Extensions (full) - Gorgeous peachy pink with gold shimmer. This is the perfect color to swipe on your lids and go if you're feeling lazy but still want something on your eyes. I'm definitely glad I got this in full sizse

Sugar Skulls (mini) - Bright coral pink with gold shimmer. It looks similar to the Pantone color of 2011 Honeysuckle but even better because of the gold shimmer!

L-R: Candy Coated, Rapunzel Wore Extensions, Sugar Skulls
L-R: Darling Misfit, Meerkat, Shinigami, Eternal Innocence
Darling Misfit (mini) - Beautiful pink with a hint of purple shade with a gorgeous aqua shift. Too bad I couldn't get the aqua shift in pictures because it's stunning!

Meerkat (mini) -Gorgeous fuschia (leaning more towards purple) with a gold shimmer. I actually succeeded in capturing the gold shimmer around the edges of the swatches

Shinigami (mini) - Rich dark purple with holographic glitter. I LOVE this color!

Eternal Innocence (mini) - Medium green with a green metallic shimmer.

L-R: Darling Misfit, Meerkat, Shinigami, Eternal Innocence

Overall I am in love with Fyrinnae's eye shadows and they definitely live up to all the hype! Also don't be afraid of their stated TAT because it honestly is not as bad as they make it out to be. I already placed and received a second order from Fyrinnae for 20 minis and I will definitely be sharing that with you as well!
